Story
On an island of haves and have-nots, teenager John B recruits his three best friends to search for a legendary treasure tied to his father’s disappearance. Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, and their “OBX” co-stars ask each other what the best lines from their popular Netflix series are. It was filmed in Charleston, South Carolina; it was originally supposed to be filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina.
This show is ridiculously unrealistic, but to be honest, I don’t even care
It’s obvious that it’s not supposed to be the most serious show ever, so I’m totally fine with it being completely over the top. The lead actors are all very easy on the eyes and are doing a pretty decent job with their acting (nothing outstanding, of course). The actors are way too old for the roles they’re playing – until Sarah said she was only 16, I wasn’t quite sure how old they were supposed to be.
But hey, that’s nothing new
Casting actors of the right age is really hard, so I can’t really deduct any points for that. I’m not completely done with it yet, but so far it’s fun, fast-paced, enjoyable. Edit: After finishing the show, I CANNOT WAIT for season 2.
Netflix, you did it again!
It got WAY better with each episode, and honestly, it felt like a really high-quality production by the end, and it’s a really good setup for a potential second season. What impressed me the most was how well-written the dialogue was – it was really believable. If you can ignore the fact that they don’t look 16 at all, they definitely act like a bunch of stupid 16-year-olds.
